"There are works of art that are not necessarily loud: they can whisper and still have tremendous strength." (Okwui Enwezor, Nigerian curator, artistic director of Documenta 11 and the Venice Biennale 2015)

A curator (from Latin curare: to care, to take care of, to look after) has the task of putting art in the right light - be it in museums or art galleries. He designs exhibitions, takes care of collections, researches and presents. Curators usually have a solid education and a very independent world view.

The "Kurator" line of embers is something very special and sets artistic accents. We use it to realize individual wishes with the greatest precision and sophistication. The fountain pens in this collection are unique and strictly limited. They are made into unique works of art by our goldsmiths and turners in painstaking, painstaking work.

Grip and details made of satin-finished, matt-brushed chrome steel are contrasted by dark, finely grained and naturally shiny wood, which comes from the Ziricote tree from southeastern Mexico. The 18-carat gold tip and the preformed grip guarantee an excellent writing experience. As a true piston filler, the piston hidden inside the writing instrument is pulled up using an elegant turning mechanism on the fountain pen's head - making it suitable for the use of liquid ink.

The fountain pen will be made exclusively for you after your order has been received: You have to allow for a production time of 7-10 days for this writing instrument. Our fountain pen Kurator is 100% made in Germany. This applies to all individual parts as well as the final production.

The ziricote tree (lat. cordia dodecandra) grows in Mexico and the neighboring countries of Central America and is named after the German botanist Euricius Cordus, who lived in the 15th/16th century lived. It has a spreading crown, does not grow particularly tall (8-16 m) compared to other tropical trees, and bears edible drupes.

The dark mottled, heavy and elegantly grained ziricote wood with a natural sheen looks similar to rosewood. It is dark brown and has filigree, black wavy lines. Occasionally silvery spots are visible. The expensive and striking wood is particularly popular in furniture making and cabinet making. Because of its excellent sound properties, it is also used in instrument making (e.g. guitars).
